How to Configure the Site Logo, Site Name & Tagline

Your Site Logo, Site Name, and Tagline are part of your website’s identity.

In Full Site Editing (FSE), these elements are controlled inside the Header template part using blocks.

Unlike older WordPress themes, you don’t configure them inside the Customizer anymore — you manage them visually inside the Site Editor.

Understanding the Three Elements #

Before changing anything, it’s important to understand what each one does:

  • Site Logo → Your brand image (usually shown in the header)
  • Site Name → Your website’s title
  • Tagline → A short description of your website

Example:

Site Name: WP Royal

Tagline: Modern Blog & Magazine Themes

Method 1: Change Logo Inside Site Editor (Recommended) #

This is the most direct method.

Step 1: Open Site Editor #

  1. Go to Appearance → Editor
  2. Click on Template Parts
  3. Select Header

Now you are editing your website header.

Step 2: Change the Site Logo #

  1. Click on the existing logo (or Site Logo block)
  2. Click Replace
  3. Upload your new logo or select from Media Library
  4. Adjust width if needed
  5. Click Save

Your new logo will now appear across the entire website.

Step 3: Edit Site Name & Tagline #

Inside the Header, you may see:

  • Site Title block
  • Site Tagline block

Click on them and edit directly.

After updating, click Save.

Method 2: Change Site Name & Tagline from Settings #

You can also update the official Site Name and Tagline from WordPress settings.

  1. Go to your dashboard and on the left menu, you will see Settings → General
  2. Update:
    • Site Title
    • Tagline
  3. Click Save Changes

These settings automatically reflect in the Site Title and Tagline blocks.

Show or Hide Tagline #

If you don’t want the tagline visible:

  1. Open Appearance → Editor
  2. Edit the Header
  3. Click on the Tagline block
  4. Remove it or toggle visibility
  5. Save

Adjust Logo Size #

After adding your logo, you can:

  • Click on the Site Logo block
  • Adjust width in block settings (right sidebar)
  • Keep proportions consistent

For best results:

  • Use transparent PNG or SVG
  • Keep logo width reasonable (avoid extremely large sizes)
  • Ensure good contrast with the background

Important Notes #

  • Editing the Header updates the logo everywhere.
  • Editing the Site Title in Settings updates it globally.
  • Removing the Site Logo block removes it from all pages.
  • Logo alignment (left, center, right) can be adjusted using block settings.

Best Practice for WP Royal Users #

For blog and magazine sites:

  • Keep logo clean and readable.
  • Avoid overly tall logos.
  • Make sure header spacing looks balanced.
  • Test how it looks on mobile view inside Site Editor.
